Overview

The School of Education at Quinnipiac University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in our Master of Arts in Teaching Program. This position will begin in the Fall 2018 semester. In this role, you will teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduation education courses, with a particular focus on reading and language arts at the elementary level.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include teaching a wide range of undergraduate and graduate education courses, with particular expertise in reading and language arts at the elementary level. Faculty also serve as student advisors and have numerous opportunities to engage in service to the school, University and abroad as well as to professional organizations.

 

Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

 

  • Completion of doctorate preferred, but ABDs will also be considered
  • 3 or more years of successful teaching experience at the Elementary level
  • Experience teaching at the university level preferred
  • Certification as a Reading/Language Arts teacher preferred
  • Training in Responsive Classroom teaching preferred
  • A demonstrated commitment to social justice and multicultural education
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Potential and desire to engage in scholarship and participate in service to the School of Education and the University
